What is so bad about it?  Presumably the authors wanted to present a 
simple solution method that could be learnt relatively easily.  Their 
leaflet does that job.

Would it be appropriate for Rubik's Cube to be boxed with a hefty 
manual describing the Fridrich method -- and nothing simpler?
