I am really struggling with the installation of alcatel speedtouch drivers.
I have an ADSL connection, and I am based in the UK.

I had Redhat 7.2 installed, and could not get it working. I then installed
Mandrake 8.1 because it supports the speedtouch modem. The only thing I am
missing is the compilation of the driver which creates the file "mgmt.o"
file.

I uncompress the file and CD into the newly created Speedtouch directory. I
then go to "make" the file, and get a list of errors.... its really
frustrating because I am a newbie to Linux.

I have no idea where I am going wrong, I have been doing a lot of research
on the net, but some tell me to patch the kernel?(no idea how to do that
yet) others tell me to download a whole lot of other drivers... and mandrake
tell me all I still need id the "mgmt.o" file to go into the /speedtouch
folder?

Help.... please

Regards

Jason
