Well, not that bad. Just try the other UCHI driver. Note that there is a bug in the kernel configurator that prevents from seeing both drivers by default. Just deselect (say 'N') the current driver, and then the second driver will appear. I suggest you build the two drivers as modules, it is much easier when you are dealing with bad hardware/module. I think I'm using 'usb-uhci' at home, because 'uhci' didn't work on my PII 278, with Intel chipset. But I'm 9000 km from home now, so I can't test for sure.
