I get that with all my USB devices (OK, I have 2 that I actually use,
and one I haven't tried for a while). The alcatel modem on a USB card
using the OHCI drivers (On a 2 way VP6 motherboard with 2x 866EB's) and
my Sharp Zaurus on a thinkpad A20p using the UHCI drivers. My kernels
are 2.4.12 and 2.4.17 respecitively.
However all devices work fine... I don't believe it's flakey USB
hardware... (Famous last words). And the worst I get nowadays is having
to reload the USB module (For the alcatel on my server), or hitting the
sync switch on my Zaurus (Which causes a physical disconnect/reconnect
on the USB port). I think it's only once or maybe rarely twice I have to
do this nowadays. It appeared to be lots better around 2.4.12 kernel,
which is why my server stays at that nowdays.
