Hi !

I've some difficulties to configure my ST 330 modem under Debian 3.0 (2.4.19).

I used the latest version of drivers from CVS, but it doesn't _work_ well :
- I don't think there could be a problem with modem_run : my syslog says the
connexion is active at 160 kb/s, which is not the case with older versions, and

packets are downloaded and uploaded at initialization ;
- There is no /dev/pts/0 after modem_run, is that normal (it was not the
case before ...) ?
- pppd have some difficulties finding a chanel (I don't know what it means ...)
- when pppd find a _good_ chanel, it launches about 10 pppoa3 processes in the
same time, but all of them finish a few later, and the modem hangs up ;o(

Do anyone could do something whith this descriptions, or should I describe a
little more my configuration ?

I've some other questions about DSL configuration :
- I read somewhere (http://www.via.ecp.fr/~jm/divers/speedtouch.html) that ATM
module (which is Experimental ...) should be added into kernel for use
pppoa ... is it true ?
- modem_run prepare the modem for use, but how can I re-prepare it (for exemple
to try option '-e 1') without reboot my system ?
- When I use modem_run, lsusb fails. Does anyone know why ?

Best reguards

Olivier

PS : I like when Alcatel says "ST 330 is Linux-compliant" (seen on speedtouch
website)
