Hello,
My Speedtouch 330 has serious performance problems under Linux.
When downloading it (sometimes) begins at 50k/sec and then it
immediately falls back at about 15k/sec where it stays that way during
the rest of the transfer, while under windblows I get a constant
throughput of 50k/sec, as it should. I noticed hundreds of
CRC-errors in AAL5-frames under Linux vs 0 under windows.
I tried everything I can think of:
- changing the speedtouch drivers (1.1, CVS-19112002, current CVS)
- changing the firmware (mgmt.o from Alcatel, alcaudsl.sys from CD)
- running pppoa3 instead of pppoa2
- upgrading the kernel from 2.4.18 -> 2.4.20
- using async communication (-a, no HDLC) vs. sync (HDLC)
- and yes, I even tried commenting out the CRC-check in atm.c,
however, it appears the frames were really corrupt ;-(
I'm beginning to get a bit desperate now. I would like to know
how my frames get corrupted, but I don't know what to do next.
Any suggestions are very appreciated!
Cheers,
Ronald
