Hello, Sorry for the size of this mail but I have a very strange problem with my adsl line and I tried to be exhaustive.
I have this problem only with Linux since a week. It worked for three months without any problem. It works every time by using windows 2000. My computer connects normally only once on four. The message of pppd is: ioctl(PPPIOCGFLAGS): Inappropriate ioctl for device I tried to kill the modem_run process, disconnect the modem and then reconnect it. Then I ran the following commands: [root@localhost adrien]# modem_run -v 2 -m -f /home/adrien/mgmt.o Gotcha, I found your ADSL ALCATEL SpeedTouch USB modem! best offset 6463 with probability 87% best offset 532634 with probability 100% BLOCK1 : 991 bytes uploaded : OK [4.903000 ms] BLOCK2 : 511 bytes downloaded : OK [328.623000 ms] 80 00 00 00 04 01 01 03 00 00 00 ce 01 a0 e3 09 ................ etc. e3 07 00 c7 e5 03 00 a0 e3 08 00 c7 e5 00 00 ............... The thing I do not understand is why it works with Windows. Has anybody an idea on what I can do?
