Hello

Further to my previous message I have been hunting around the website faq
on http://linux-usb.sourceforge.net/SpeedTouch/faq/index.html

The result I get from

   cat proc/net/atm/speedtch:0

is :

Speed Touch USB (usb-00:10.1-2)
MAC: 00:90:d0:xx:xx:xx
AAL5: tx 0 ( 0 err ), rx 0 ( 0 err, 0 drop )
Line state unknown, no firmware

which might help give a better clue to the problem. I've blanked out part
of my
MAC address.

Items of interest or relevance from boot.msg might be :
ttyS0 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
ttyS1 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-212
Configured serial ports

I haven't a clue how to relate that modprobe message to any module.

Hotplug services start up ok later on with 's07hotplug start' exiting with
code 0.
'network start' also works fine with lo started, dsl0 manual and ppp0
manual and an exit value of 0.

But I get this in the warn log

linux kernel: usb-uhci.c: ENXIO 80000nnn, flags 0, urb nnnnnnnn, burb
nnnnnnnn

I've not filled in all the nunbers on this because they do vary.
As an example of this message:

linux kernel: usb-uhci.c: ENXIO 80000480, flags 0, urb c627a720, burb
627aca0

I still have only firmware.bin and KQD6P2.eni in the speedbundle
subdirectory firmware
and attempted a recompile. And attempted taking the USB modem out of its
socket and
putting in back in to see if that clears any problem.

What have I missed doing?
