I guess that Firefox and Thunderbird have a peculiar way of "querying" the
connection when you type in the location bar. I'm no expert really. The
strange thing is that Mozilla still worked perfectly while that was
happening, at least until the other day when the response times got
painfully slow. Could it be related to the fact that I didn't kill modem_run
etc.. properly on shutdown?
