Sorry everybody, I think I've found out what did it: it must have been my firewall configuration. The firewall setup in rpppOe (the 1 option in adsl-setup) does not work or at least I don't know how to use it correctly. On top of that I had a firewal configuration left over from my previous PCI modem which was on eth1 (there's nothing there anymore). Without any firewall (0 option) everything works just fine, at least for now. Thank you all for your concern.
