Hi,

I have ADSL connection problem in UK.
My ISP gave me the information which say that connection type is PPPoA.

Since I haven't Speed Touch USB modem to try pppoa driver for FreeBSD 5.2 I
used several other DSL modems which works in bridge or router modes.

So in Router mode everything is OK - I have a connection with good speed.
In bridge mode it connects, but I can't download any files. Transfer hangs
after some a little amount data transferred. To make connection from my
FreeBSD box in Bridge mode I use ppp with PPPoE as device type:
set device PPPoE:rl0

So what's wrong here? Is it OK to use any device which works in Bridge mode
and run ppp on my FreeBSD box, or it's completely wrong way?

Of course I can run DSL modem in Router mode but in this case I get other
problems with my IP range. As a result I can use NAT only and not my public
IPs.

Maybe there is any how-to describing FreeBSD ADSL connection in United Kingdom?

Any help would be appreciated. I can provide more details if needed.

Thanks,
Mike.
