Hi Andrej. What are the values of the following parameters : lcp-echo-interval and lcp-echo-failure? It's in the pppd configuration file (usually under /etc/ppp/peers). While downloading your test files, monitor the line with ping to see if ping time increase or not. It "might" be possible that your peer does not answer fast enought to LCP echo request.
