Hi All,

Has anyone seen this before?

My machine on boot starts up, runs the following:

/usr/local/sbin/modem_run -m -f $PREFIX/libdata/mgmt.o \
&& ppp -quiet -$MODE $ISP \

This initiates my ppp connection using the speedtouch usb modem.

The problem however is that if the connection gets dropped for some reason ppp
then attempts to reconnect. It gives every impression that it has
reconnected, an ifconfig shows the ppp adaptor (tun0) as having an IP
address, but you cannot browse, nslookup, etc.

The only way to get reconnected is to reboot the machine.

I've tried testing a few things, and discovered that in order for you to be
able to reconnect, the power on the usb modem *has* to be reset so that
modem_run can load the firmware file. If you don't reboot and try to
reconnect, modem_run just sits there and hangs.

Has anyone seen this before using bsd? Is there a fix?
