USBDEVFS_BULK - as I have mentioned before on this list I get this message in 
my startup scripts, this even when the firmware loads and the modem eventually 
connects. 
I think it has to do with the speedtouchs relatiionship to the USB bus and the 
whole hotplugging thing - it just cannot be woken up by the USB subsystem (this 
happens on winXP too). 
The only way 'round it is to unplug the USB plug physically from the port and 
wait for your moment ( preferably when the system is searching for new 
hardware) to plug it in again. This has worked for me. 
The second go at modem_run - maybe you would expect the port to be unavailable 
at that time if the first instance hadn't yet given up? 
I'm newish here myself and not very deeply technical, but there does seem to be 
a commonality to a number of the problems reported in recent months.
