There is two/three sort of usb controller : uhci, ohci, ehci (usb2 hight
speed)
It mean one or more possibilities :
- usb may be disabled in bios
- did you use a kernel from the 2.2 branch?
- you may have you have an ohci controller
- usb-uhci (or uhci :another driver for the same controller on ) module is
not compilated (that should be not the case on a standard debian kernel to
my knowledge as I don't use it) .
