Hi Michele, if you do

        ping 68.142.226.33

what happens?  Also, helpful messages from the
kernel and pppd go into your system logs; I think
that's /var/log/messages on FC3 (on some systems it
is /var/log/syslog).  So have a look in there and
post interesting bits here.
