Andrew i haven't checked dmesg, but i do get connection failures on a pretty regular basis, using suse.
what i do is restart the modem (by briefly disconnecting the usb) and then run my rc starup file, which reloads the firmware: modem_run -f /etc/zzzl_3.012 sleep 10 pppd call adsl updetach but don't need to reboot the whole system, ruth >I have to restart the machine to get the link back.
