These messages are harmless (firmware_helper is being pointlessly verbose
here I think): the modem tried to find speedtch-1.bin.0.00, then
speedtch-1.bin.0, then speedtch-1.bin.  The last one existed, and it
loaded it.  Likewise for speedtch-2.bin.

Are you using the correct version of the firmware (what version of the
modem do you have)?  Also, try compiling the kernel with CONFIG_USB_DEBUG=y,
which should put more messages in the system log.
