Hi!

Seems that my modem is dying, as since a month or two i often but randomly get
:

speedtch 3-2:1.0: speedtch_upload_firmware: read BLOCK4 from modem failed
(-110)!
speedtch 3-2:1.0: speedtch_heavy_init: firmware upload failed (-110)!

So I'm looking for the right way to reset my Speedtouch device, in order to
resend the firmware if it fails.
I found this useful LWN article : http://lwn.net/Articles/143397/ , but it
doesn't appear to work on my 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 box :

echo -n "3-2:1.0" >/sys/bus/usb/drivers/speedtch/unbind
produces half the time this dmesg output :
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf6645540 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf66454c0 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf6645440 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf7377de0 failed (-2)!
or every other time this one :
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf7377ee0 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf7377e60 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf7377de0 failed (-2)!
ATM dev 0: usbatm_complete: urb 0xf6645440 failed (-2)!

and

echo -n "3-2:1.0" >/sys/bus/usb/drivers/speedtch/bind
leads to :
ATM dev 0: ADSL line is blocked?

Could this be a driver bug ? Am I missing something ?

Sorry for my approximative english :)
