well, finally the embeding the unicode fonts should look at least like
this (thanks to Roberto Alsina):

verdana.style (utf8):

{
   "embeddedFonts" :
[["verdana.ttf","verdanai.ttf","verdanab.ttf","verdanaz.ttf"],
["cour.ttf","couri.ttf","courb.ttf","cour.ttf"]],
   "fontsAlias" : {
     "stdFont": "verdana",
     "stdBold": "verdanab",
     "stdItalic": "verdanai",
     "stdBoldItalic": "verdanaz",
     "stdMono": "cour",
     "stdMonoItalic": "couri",
     "stdMonoBold": "courb",
     "stdMonoBoldItalic": "courb",
     "stdSerif": "cour"
   }
}

and the command on windows is:
rst2pdf somefile -s verdana.style --font-path=c:/windows/fonts

I know its little offtopic, but someone might try it ... Anyway json
syntax of styles is quite strange and complicated. For example there can
not be comma after last "cour" ;-)
