I am sorry, I jumped to the conclusion based on one viewer. I had
checked it on Adobe Reader on Linux and and now on Windows.
The document looks good at large font sizes (~30 pt) and very small
(< ~8). But at small sizes, the fonts look crooked. The trouble seems
to be with Adobe's scaling. I tried PDF X-Change viewer and it looks
good at all sizes.
