I have no specific experience, but the general approach is to buy sound-proofing material (thick brown matting stuff) and stick it everywhere - underside of the bonnet, front of the firewall, inside the door skins, under the carpet. I have some stuck to the underside of my boot-lid, although I'm not sure what that achieves! (also not relevant for GT6s!).
Beyond that, buy a decent stereo and speakers and crank that Hendrix up louder! LOUDER I said!! Of course, one of the advantages of a Spitfire is the opportunity to share your Hendrix (well, Rainbow and Led Zepp are actually what's coming out of Daffy right now) with other people. In your GT6 you'll have to keep it more to yourself. Oh, one more thing - check what exhaust system you have on there! If it's anything other than standard, you can be pretty sure it is LOUDER than standard - you may want to swap back to the standard set-up to keep noise down (except go for stainless steel - for what extra it costs it's well worth knowing you'll never have to replace it again). If you don't replace, make sure the current system has no holes, or leaks at any of the joints.
