Well listers - the transmission is back in the Spit and it works! It even
works better that before I screwed with it! A hint of a whine in 3rd gear,
but no slopping around in third and I can use second. I'm not sure I'll try a
transmission again - nothing was easy. I spent hours on a bearing alone! I
will say, things went back together much easier than they came apart though.

My parts from Rimmer seemed pretty good except that they sent the wrong
clutch! It's a Mk II clutch. I'll put it aside for my Mk II project. I
looked around for another locally and reasoned that summer was wasting and the
clutch had been no trouble before so the old one went back in (I know, I know,
I'm impatient!)

Anyway - thanks all for the help. I still have some trim to replace and a lot
of clean up to do but that's another day.
