Usually it's more like a whine than a clunk.  The whine changes
in pitch with speed change.  It will diminish when you apply the
brakes as the brake shoes will take some of the load off the
bearing.  You will also notice that the hub gets very hot.

A clunk makes me think of a bad bushing.  Also check that the bolts
holding the axle flange to the diff haven't worked loose.

If it does turn out to be the bearing, make sure that the shop
has the proper tool so that the hub doesn't get bent trying to get
it off.
