OK, it only makes a noise without power. I think it is play in the diff. I tried up in the air and only when I turn the wheel by hand and do it back and forth does if make any noise. I suspect it sort of echoes down the drive shaft. Not sure exactly what is the root cause. I suspect wear somewhere. Also if I push the car along - a few feet back and forth on the garage floor it is quiet. Any ideas?
