Phillip, I found that most companies don't like to rent a car hauler unless you are renting a truck too. Some charge a huge price and others simply won't do it. I ran into the problem some years ago and ended up buying a trailer for very little over the rental price. I planned to sell it at the next destination which would net a cost much lower than the rental. That was 15 years ago and we still have the trailer. It has been a godsend many times both for our family and friends. Recommend you consider purchasing a new or used one. You always have the option to sell it later. Seems to always be a market for them. If you do buy used, check the tires and welds closely and plan on repacking the bearings. Good luck, Pete
--- I am getting ready to move my 76 Spitfire from Alabama to Florida and need some advice. I want to trailer it down on a car trailer and not a dolly. Have any of you had any luck with the rental companies like Uhaul? If I was further along on the car I would have liked to just drive it but don't think that is a good idea just yet.
