Hi, Mark I agree it's important to ensure all your 'oles are properly lined up - and finding out they aren't can be an expensive lesson. That said, my earlier post (perhaps mistakenly) assumed all the proper alignment checks would be done during a rebuild. The oil feed for the four cylinder SC engine is basically the same as on the 6 cyl versions as well.

Case in point, 1296s have the oilfeed for the top end as an adjunct to the rear cam bearing (it runs to the cam and then to the rockers). The holes are not symmetrical and if the rear cam bearing is not installed so that BOTH holes are open, the rockers WILL starve without an auxiliary oil feed line. Don't ask how I know this...It was painful. > Mark Haynes > RMVR 162 > > ________________________________________________________________ > The best thing to hit the Internet in years - NetZero HiSpeed! > Surf the Web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! > Only $14.95/ month -visit www.netzero.com to sign up today! > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
