Put a pair of vise grips on the lug nut and pull hard outwards while
turning. With luck, there'll be enough of the splines left to hold
wheel stud from turning while the lug nut comes off.

Unless the wheel stud got knocked loose and is totally undamaged,
replace it when you get the wheel off to avoid having this headache
again.

Best!

Subject: [Spit] Loose lug nut
Date: Sun, 4 Mar 2007 08:56:01 -0500

I was washing my Spitfire yesterday and discovered that one of the lug nut
was loose. I could turn it with my fingers, but the nut never would
tighten. I guess that the lug bolt is loose from the hub. How does one get
the wheel off in order to replace (or tighten) the lug bolt to the hub?

Left rear wheel, VB Panasport rims.

Any ideas?
