Can't help much with your other question but as far as where to fit the long
OD switch, in the UK it's on the same side as the indicators switch - one
advantage being that if you hit the wrong switch when trying to go in or out
of OD it's less of a problem if you indicate than knock the lights on or
off.

an o/d before. My questions are: Which side of the steering column does
the long o/d switch go on? I put it on the right side (same side as the
headlight dimmer switch) but it is right above the gearshift knob which
seems odd but that is where I saw one located on Utube web site. ......
