New rotors, new calipers, looks great: But, there's enough of a difference in
gap between rotor and inboard and outboard caliper such that the outboard
(new) pad is pretty tight, in fact contacting the rotor. The old pads which
are thinner (wear) fit OK; does it matter if there is a difference in gap from
one side to the other? The reason for this difference isn't obvious to me. I
thought maybe the felt seal was too thick so I cut off about 3mm -- didn't
seem to make a difference. I also thought the bolt flange on the new caliper
assembly might be a bit wider than the original -- not so. So, what else? Do
new brake pads vary in thickness?
