If this is the only C99ism splint chokes on while checking your code: A few weeks ago a patch was posted to this list addressing it. See http://www.cs.virginia.edu/pipermail/splint-discuss/2008-July/001190.html. I didn't look at it yet, though. As far as I understood, full support for C99 is currently not planned.
