One of
the most common things that eats exhaust systems is driving short
distances. The exhaust doesn't have time to heat up and evaporate the
moisture. So the moisture inside the exhaust pipe just sits there and
rust from the inside out. Road salt doesn't help matters any. I have
the SPS aluminized exhaust on my car for about 2 years now and it is ok and I
live in Pa.

yeah you got it, and i was aware of the steel part. I'm just too lazy to write. so what conditions would the stainless corrode? are we talking salty roads? what comes stock on the car?
I assume you are talking about for an exhaust. If you are then it isn't aluminum, it is aluminized steel, and it does corrode. Stainless would be the way to go, but that is much more expensive. And stainless can corrode given the right conditions :)
