The
legality of the resonator as a muffler would depend on your local laws.
The muffler is only used to quiet the exhaust. I would guess that if your
car doesn't exceed the local Decibel Level laws anything should
go. That how it is where I live anyway.

could I just do what feeny did and make side exit exhaust w/o a muffler? would a resonator be considered a muffler by law? it seems that would be a whole lot better. Im only 17 and cant afford a WRX by the way.
