Team: Previously, I had a set of 16" rims with 205/45ZR16 tires on my 97 SL1 and was very pleased with the handling and performance with them.
Now that I am getting a new paint scheme done on the car, I would like to start looking into new rims once again. This time, however, I am considering going with a 17" wheel/tire combo. Of the rims I like, these are the specs: 17 X 7 with 4-100 pattern and 40mm offset 17 X 7 with 4-100 pattern and 38mm offset 17 X 7.5 with 4-100 pattern and 43mm offset (like these the most) My tire options seems to be: 205/45ZR17 215/45ZR17 Basically what I want to know is if any of you are running 17" rims and tires..if so, what sizes you went with. Are there any fitment problems with the 17" rims along with a 2" drop. And lastly, what are your opinions about 16" rims versus 17" rims. Your input is greatly appreciated Scott W.
