I've got four Bridgestone Potenza RE730 on my car. The size is 205/55R15 on the stock 15x6.5 inch wheels. The clearance between the sidewall and the strut is less than a 1/4 of an inch or so. If I am really abusing the car through the corners the sidewall flex very closely comes into contact with the strut. I used a thin sponge with white shoe polish to test to see how close the tire comes into contact with the strut.
I wouldn't want to go any wider than the 205. If you are just interested in going in straight lines and looking suave while doing it then maybe I'd concede to a narrow 215 being acceptable. Otherwise it seems to be more of a hinderance than not. gurple Visit SPOC National at http://www.spocnational.org Don't forget to update your Profile in the Owners Database.
