UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE It has been awhile since I posted much about this event, but I figured that I would post something up in update again. The date is April 21st, 2002 which is a Sunday. For those of you who don't know where York Springs is, it is approximately 20 miles north of Gettysburg, PA on US Route 15.
We will be meeting in Dillsburg, at the Dillsburg Giant Grocery Store Plaza at 07:30-07:45 AM EDT. The caravan to Kauffman Motorsports will leave promptly at 08:00 AM EDT. There will be plenty of space to sit and wait in the nice spacious parking lot, and no horseplay in the lot, believe me the local police do NOT appreciate that and they will show you how much they don't appreciate it. The address for the Giant is: Giant Food Stores 880 North South US Route 15 Dillsburg, PA 17019 Kauffman Motorsports, for those who don't know, is a two wheel drive dyno only designed for cars/trucks (no bikes) and does not have four wheel/all wheel drive dyno capability at this time. The cost per run will be dependant upon the sign ups but usually runs between $50-65 for three pulls on the dyno (with A/F ratio being extra)...anyone needing over three runs (i.e. to test NOS, etc.) should let me know and then they would get bumped to the hourly rate (which I do not currently have in front of me - oh I might mention at this point I have no affiliation with Kauffman Motorsports and am getting NO KICK BACKS from organizing this). Mind you also that the staff on hand at Kauffman's are a professional crew and will do their best to give you feedback on your run (as if you wouldn't get enough from everyone around!). I will post up the current list of people I have registered for the dyno run later today as well as directions to Giant / Kauffman's...please if you are registered to dyno run, make sure you are there...if you need to be scheduled later in the day or earlier, let me know and we'll work out a schedule... ALSO IMPORTANT...try to bring some sort of food with you, preferably like a covered dish of some sorts...we would like to do a BBQ/Cookout/Picnic idea so that no one has to run and get food...we need stuff like 2 litres of soda, hamburgers, hot dogs, rolls, snacks, cookies, potato salad ... stuff like that ... if you are interested in helping out by bringing stuff like this, shoot me an e-mail so I know about it in advance and can sort of prepare what we are doing... Also, bring the women, I was there for the TDR dyno day awhile back and they seemed to have a good old time by themselves making fun of all the guys gawking at engines, etc. Plus there is outlet shopping like 15-20 minutes down the road in Gettysburg... Saturn club members coming also for the work day...I would like to put some $$ together for Kauffman's for use of the garage/lift...I ask you to contribute what you can to the fund (pennies and nickels are not appropriate)...I know that we are not all poor people and even I will be contributing (although I will not be dyno'ing or working that day)... >From now on all updates will be listed on the following thread on the Saturnspeed.com >message forum (John has the best bandwidth) ... http://www.saturnspeed.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=shows&action=display&num=1015815077 Have fun, drive safe, ENJOY THE RIDE!
