I'm teaching a course which includes a section on espionage.
I have the Conet CDs, but would like to tune in a live Numbers Station
in Los Angeles during my class which meets Tuesdays & Thursdays
from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Pacific Time.

Can anyone help me identify a Numbers Station which is receivable
here during those hours? So far I've been unsuccessful in finding one.

Hi Nick,

I love in Pasadena, and I've only had luck picking up the Cuban stations, and then only at night.

I'm not sure how lucky you'll be, but you should check out the V2 and V2a schedules.

You could always pull something in on your own set, record it, and play it for your class the next day. I did that for my kids when I could only pull in the V2* stations in the middle of the night, or see if you could pick something up on one of the internet tuner sites.

OH! You know what else is insanely cool? You can get EAMs all day long on certain frequencies (I don't have them in front of me, but Spynumbers.com had something on EAMs, if I recall correctly. They're encoded messages, sound cool as hell, and are usually loud and clear. It's not exactly the same as a Numbers Station, but it's awfully close.

Go Bruins!

Wil

Many thanks,
Nick
