You're replying to the wrong sender (Dennis is not John) but to your point yes, I've helped many folks get started in ham radio, or re-kindle their enjoyment of "it" (even though it isn't an "it"...there's CW, DXing , ragchewing, contesting, moonbounce, satellite, homebrewing, QRP, and dozens of other facets).

Too bad it didn't work out for you.

Do you offer to help others? Have you? I am referring to the hams in my
area NOT all hams but hams in another area can't hep me here can they?
