Once while shooting the Norfolk Southern on a very dark December 12:00
noon for a Trains mag article, I was exposing Fuji 400 at 1/15th second
at f/1.4 !!! That is less than 1/15,000 the exposure on a bright sunny
day with Kodachrome 64. No push processing was used, and the slides were
dynamite. Colors (black, white and gray, with a little yellow in the
headlight) were right-on neutral. In fact, this is one of my all-time
favorite photos. Who cares about grain? I GOT THE SHOT, and that is all
that counts under such extreme conditions. (I will be out of town for
10 days on photo shoots, so please wait until the 20th to flame me!)
