I have just joined the sporrs list, and while I do not consider myself 
a serious railroad photographer I do consider myself a photographer.  I shoot  
pictures of railroads because I enjoy the subject and like to share it with 
others who cannot or will not take pictures to share.  
        I will be traveling to England in Dec. of this year and would like to 
know if anyone has information of good spots to shoot in and around London.  I 
will also be in the North Cornwall and North Devon area for a few days.   Any  
suggestions for that area.  I would also like to obtain the information  
mentioned in John Lucas' recent posting about methods of packing equipment 
for air travel.  I am especially interested in protecting both my unexposed 
and exposed film from X-rays.  Anyone have good suggestions?  I know that the 
British are very careful with checking baggage and do not want to ruin any  
of my pictures.  I have X-ray shield bags.  Are these good enough for placing 
film in luggage?  What about the three 35mm roll lead containers?  Any  
assistance would be greatly appreciated. 
        One more thing, I do go out and watch the trains go by my house even 
when I do not have my camera handy, but the double stacks sure get boring after 
a while
