Another rule of thumb with teles: be very cautious of used zooms, and less so
of used prime teles. Talk to the dealer about why the lens was traded in,
and shoot some photos before leaving the store with it. I learned a hard
lesson by buying a used Nikon 80-200 f4.5 -- normally one of the best made of
this type, this one added a soft edge to the film image. Nikon fixed it for
$50, but they can't always be fixed (I split the bill with the camera store).
