To which Warren replies...

Being old and tired, I spend a lot of time within 30 minutes of my
house. The first thing I noticed is that each spot changes with the
seasons. The lighting is different at various times of the year, and
the view is considerably different depending on the foliage of the
trees. During the last couple of months, I exploited late-day winter
light for the first time.

Another factor has now entered into the equation: urbanization. New
roads have provided more access points, and a new bike path has been
constructed along Mill Creek--right next to the BNSF Emporia Sub. It's
time for me to dust off my old bike and put air in the tires. I guess
I'll have to buy a helmet to be socially accepted in today's cycling
environment.

This has been the first winter that I remember wanting to continue
shooting right through the colder, darker months. It must be El Ninyo.
Or maybe it has been the lively conversation on SPORRS.
