I find this copyright issue somewhat timely, and definitely ironic. In
December, my website marked its third "anniversary" on the Net; so it was time
to make some minor format revisions and image updates. One of those changes
included the removal of nearly a dozen copyright notices that accompanied
most of the images on the site. I thought maybe I was being a bit paranoid and
was carrying this copyright business to an extreme --- now, I an not so sure.

As I explained to some people last fall, during the past three years, there
have been a lot requests directed to my website for a variety of information
on railroads and motive power -- from finding injectors for 567 c.i.d marine
engines to checking old builder plate data to researching the whereabouts of
old diesels. It is fun and gratifying on those occasions when I have been able
to help. And, it is in the same spirit that I post images to the website -- it
is a means of giving something back to this hobby which I have enjoyed for the
past 36 years. However, I expect appropriate credit to be given, and I reserve
the right to determine when and how my images are used --- unless of course
specific permission has been given.
