I sent two PK-36 mailers to Dallas on 12/31 and they were returned 1/10.
Since these were my last mailers, I dropped off two new rolls at my local
Eckerd Drug (which has a Kodak Processing option) on 1/5 and received it
back 1/7, also in Kodak mounts; they indicated that they "deliver to Kodak
in Dallas." Hopefully it was not processed by some of the 'other labs'
mentioned in an earlier message. Everything seemed fine.

I shoot about a hundred rolls of film a year, 75% Kodachrome and the rest
Fuji. All of my mailers go to Fairlawn. I get most of them back in 8 to 10
days. Dallas used to take at least two weeks. If I need one quick, the
local camera store in Bakersfield can turn it around in two days, on Kodak
paper mounts. From what I've seen, A&I most likely does these on contract
for Kodak, for I requested A&I once for a roll of Senisa 100 and it came
back on Kodak paper mounts.

Also, on this subject, go to your local Post Office and ask them for
priority mail boxes. There is one about the size for videos that will hold
at least eight mailers. Fairlawn will return your slides (for me they have)
in one box shipped the same way.

If you have any more than one mailer use the small bubble mailers from your
local office supply store.

I hope these few tips that I've learned through some real horror stories
will help ease your mind the next time you drop that roll off in a mailbox.
