Traveling light...well since my preferred mode of transportation is by motorcycle (a Gold Wing that can actually carry quite a lot) I have in the back basket the usually camera bag with two Nikons and a Bronica, telephoto and wide angle lense, tripod, flash, scanner, and California Regional Railfan Guide. In the side basket several books to read, rain suit, face shield, boots, orange vest, occasionally a hard hat, (no ladder). Also thrown in is at least one notebook. If I'll be out there for more than a day or two some changes of clothes and a shaving kit. What else does one need. By the way you can stuff about 80lbs of stuff just in the baskets of a Gold Wing <G>.
