John: Thank you very much for having the fortitude to place this message on SPORRS. You are exactly right in articulating this point as you have, and I wish every camera toting train lover in this country would realize how utterly rediculous, immature and indefensable (sp?) their positions are! Not to mention illegal! Your illustration of shooting an F16 was superb. Do you preach as a sideline? Years and years ago I gave up driving into yards, partly because of the safety issue, although as both a professional railroader and a fan I think this issue is way overplayed, but more importantly because the REAL issue of obeying authority is at stake, and our society is too far over the line of disobeying the law without my adding to it for a stupid picture. Not only that, but my sons are going to do in excess what I do in moderation. They both see and mimic their Dad. I'd be curious to know how many of these "get the shot regardless of the law" fans have children who are totally out of their parents control? Walk down the toy aisle of a Wal Mart and observe. Point made... We can shoot in the country, not trespass and come away with some great stuff. Being associated with the trespassers is one of the major reasons I dropped out of circulation as a contributor to the magazines. At some point in the future I may choose to re-affiliate myself with the rail industry and I don't want the liability of having my name all over publications to shoot down my credibility. Thanks again, Jerry ps, if you think any of this is worth posting to SPORRS, feel free to do so. I always if my two cents worth has any real value to the rest of the world. --------- End forwarded message ---------- _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
