Let's see, in fewer words. Extend all of your fingers as far out as you can.
Your thumb and first finger will be at a 90-degree angle. Point your first
finger at the sun, and your thumb will be pointing at the "angle of
polarization." You can see the entire arc by rotating your thumb while
keeping your forefinger pointed at the sun.

If you want to get used to what a polarizer sees, buy a pair of polarized
sunglasses. Cheap ones work as well as pricey ones. They are set up for
horizontal viewing; turn your head sideways (as if a horizontal slide was in
the projector vertical) and you'll see the difference. Wearing a pair of
polarized sunglasses will keep you thinking about the filter, and you will
quickly grow accustomed to what it can and can't do, and how it can help you.

                               All the best, ....Mike Del
