I just read the mail in my mailbox this morning. It never ceases to amaze me that so many people have such thorough opinions of so many things, and they will post them to this list, yet they still won't vote on the SOTM.
One subscriber that did vote said to me: > Great images, I am not one to get involved but love the site and images, > thanks. I thought this said it so well that I posted it here for you to see. If you like the images on the site, and you want to see more of them, then vote on something. The SOTM vote inspires and motivates members to send shots in, and without it, I am sure that you would see far fewer shots on the site. It is irrelevant if you are an amateur with an instimatic camera or a pro with every piece of gear made slung over your shoulder. All it takes is a vote; your personal opinion; not your experience of any kind to make this decision. If you want to post why you like a certain shot on this list, that is your own decision, but if you don't decide on one to vote on, then you may find yourself with less to lurk with. Every SPORRS member has the right to vote. Use it or lose it. The SPORRS images have reached the quantity (about 110) where they will be maintained, and the older images are now bumped off the bottom of the page as newer ones are added to the top. Shots that receive SOTM votes are also moved up higher in the thumbnails, in the order of vote quantities received. This gives you, the SPOORS members, the ability to control the image content of the site by voting. There was to be an archive for the older shots that are being removed, but with this current level of support, I see no reason to maintain one. Wonder why we don't have any new features on the site anymore? End of my editorializing on this subject.
