I unfortunately have had the sinking feeling as a camera drops out of
sight. In 1985, while on a trip to the Quebec Cartier Railway, I was
setting up on a cliff above the north end of tunnel A when the strap
on my Pentax SPF broke. I tried to grab it, but missed (wasn't going
to dive for it standing by a 200+ foot drop!). Heard one clunk as it
bounced of a rock, and then many seconds of silence before a distant
smash! Direct hit right between the rails. Fortunately I had two
other bodies with me, although now I regret photographing the
wreckage - was too darn *&%*$#** off!
