Time I can see as a problem, but money is not. I have no inspirtion to be purchasing any of the gear I do not already own, but renting some stuff for a evening or two wouldn't be a bad idea. >I'm all for tradition. So am I. Even though I usually won't admit it, I am very difficult to introduce new methods to, even though I am somewhat of a technology nut. >I have an older second Leica projector with bright light and a dead >sharp lens, a carriage system that keeps each slide in perfect alignment, >regardless of mount, a high quality screen, and Kodachrome. I have less than >500 bucks in the whole thing and quality is superb and the technology simple. >I talk at shows and could even hum a little something. Trust me, I have a lot of faith in the traditional system. In fact one of my biggest complaints is that by using digital image techniques, we truly lose how good a photographer is. Was his exposure correct, was his focus on, how was his composition, etc, etc, all because of digital manipulation. Granted, to a certain degree, alterations can be made to image with non-electronic means, but its not what I am driving at. >Why do we keep trying >to make things harder and more complicated. Each new "bright idea" raises >everybody's expectations and then next year the technology has "improved" and >you reinvent the wheel all over again. Well, at least in my eyes, thats really not what I am trying to accomplish here. Sometimes a little variety helps break the monotony, make something a little more interesting, brings a fresh face to the dance. Keep in mind, if we're all at it long enough, it WILL become normal. >Jeez, I wish somebody hadn't already >taken the name "Grumpy". ;-) >Mike Gardner< Grumpy Jr?
